My Heart Has Joined The Thousand,
For My Friend Stopped Running Today.
If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, you know my bunny girl, Ressie died. She was around three and a half when I got her and 7 when she dies, so she had a long life for a Flemish Giant. I'm still missing her though so I figured I would compile some of the art she inspired over the years here.
There was a brief moment when I wanted to make cartoons about getting a pet rabbit. I didn't really follow through with it but the few i made were fun. This one is about how I brought her home from the shelter in a cardboard box.
This was part of that series. I think I made this in 2013?
These were made at the Woman's Studio Workshop.
awww
even though this egg cup is white, it's still Ressie inspired.
Same for this bunny veggie tray. I should make more of these...
This one is pretty obvious.
in 2014 I started making specially shaped food dishes designed so my girl couldn't throw them, as rabbits LOVE to do.
Also, this lovely planter happened!
I started painting with gouache on fabric stretch over random objects like this badminton racket.
Mini stuff started :)
And of course there was the rug beater meditating bun made on fabric from a dress I wore in high school!
2015 brought the magical four eyed bun.
Walter, who you can get here
These next few are from when I did a daily drawing challenge that got me drawing every day after not doing so for for many years.
Pretty much..
aww <3 this was when she jumped up on me while I was in bed drinking tea and spilled it all over me.
Reesie in one of her cardboard boxes
Some student work, inspired by my love of rabbits <3
Sacred Geometry Bunny coloring page from my crowd funding campaign :)
The rabbit tea set which is here
And then this Buns in Outer space painting which I finished when I was loosing my shit, which is pretty weird now that i am thinking about it.
I think the miniature bunny family happened in 2015 or maybe even 2014, but whatever. This pic is from 2016 and these guys just got a new home.
These bun dishes were made for my crowd funding supporters
This was made possible in part with funds from the Decentralization Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts, with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature, and administered by the St. Lawrence County Arts Council
I finally made a new business card
And then by bunny girl left. You can read about it here if you want.
